Project Description:

The Arab African Bank in Bahrain was designed by SOM and PACE was responsible for the working drawings and supervision. The building consists of 11 floors, 10 of which are dedicated to housing offices and a penthouse is located on the top floor. There are 2 basements that provide parking spaces for 71 cars. The exterior skin of the building reacts to the climate and sun orientation; the facades change from solid with punched openings to glass facades. The building’s main elevation introduces solar glass panels and is oriented to the Muharraq causeway.
