The Ministry of Public
Works sought to build a conference center as well as residences for dignitaries visiting
Kuwait. PACE undertook the design development and supervision of the main conference
building as well as infrastructural facilities and supervision of landscaping works. The
conference building comprises of a conference hall and an auditorium with a seating
capacity for 1,200. The Main auditorium serves major international conferences as well as
National Theatre to conduct ballet and concert performances. Other facilities include
dressing rooms, district library, special reception for Heads of Delegations and other
VIPs participating in international meetings. After the Iraqi invasion, most of the
buildings within the complex were badly damaged. PACE undertook the damage assessments for
the buildings as well as producing tender documents, design and supervision for the
restoration of the conference center. Phase II of the project consists of a Guest Palace,
Banquet Hall, Central Plant and infrastructure with a total cost of $100 million. Phase II
is currently under construction.
